Dave Cuts – A barber for gentlemen
appointment information

My name is David Green. I am a Barber in Atlanta providing men’s haircut services. Most of my clients are managers, executives, and the professionals who meet with them. They maintain a clean, well put together appearance, and cannot risk having someone say or think that they are “looking shaggy.”
My Barber chair is a place where a man can relax. You can turn off the world for a while and “recharge your batteries.” I keep the conversation light, or you can simply take in a few moments of peace while I go to work. Some clients opt for a silent haircut where they can “zone out” and unwind in peace while I go to work, only breaking the silence to check along the way to make sure that they are getting the haircut they want.
All men’s haircut services include:

- A personal consultation where we talk in detail about the haircut that you would like. Men’s haircuts come in a variety of shapes and sizes, and many hairstyles are more than the “#2 on the sides and scissors on top” which new clients have experienced in the past. Some clients bring pictures on their phones of hairstyles to show what they do and don’t like, and others bring previous pictures of themselves to show me how they have worn their hair in the past. I ask a variety of questions during our consultations before I start cutting.
- Your men’s haircut will be tailor-made for your image, morning routine, and lifestyle.
- I shave the neck with hot lather and a straight razor (I will use an alternative to the razor if I observe that the skin is too sensitive, or if any other condition would prohibit the use of a razor).
- When we are finished, I will review the haircut with you so that you can keep it looking great in between haircuts, and blow off any hairs which have fallen onto you (especially the shoes!)
You can take my notes home with you

When I lived in Seattle, one of my mentors often said “the dullest pen remembers better than the sharpest mind.”
My clients enjoy the fact that I write notes on every haircut and take reference photos so that the next time they are in my chair, we have a starting point. It is more dependable than “do what you did last time.” Sometimes the client says “same thing, but lets go a little longer” or a little shorter.
I encourage my traveling clients to take pictures of my notes and your haircut in their phone in case you need to get their hair cut while you are away. This way, you have something to show the Barber where they are, which helps them to know what you want.
how to ask for this haircut
These are a few of the more popular men’s haircuts that men ask for. Some clients like to get ideas from them and others will pull up the website while they are in the chair and show me the cut that they like. It ofen gives us a starting point if someone isn’t sure how to ask for the style that they want.

These are the services which are most often requested by my clients.
Master Men’s Haircut + Beard Trim

I receive more requests for a Master Haircut combined with a Beard Trim than most of my other services.
This is a full grooming service for the head and face. I treat your hair and beard as two parts of the same presentation. The service begins with a specialized consultation which focuses on your beard shape and style, with a cut designed for your face shape and hair type and density. Most beards are usually blended or faded into each other, and then taper through the sideburns down to the jaw and lower beard area.
I finish each cut with a razor outline and edging both on the face and the neck.
I personally recommend finishing with a vigorous shampoo and conditioning treatment. It washes the little hairs out of your head and leaves your hair and head feeling great (pro tip: this also lets me see what your hair does after you wash it at home and to make any needed adjustments).
This service usually takes about an hour – $86 including the shampoo
Book as Master Haircut + Beard Combo and select the Shampoo Add-on
Head Shave + Beard Trim
A large number of my clients have little to no hair above the ears, These gentlemen receive the full relaxation and benefit of the hot towels treatment that comes with the head shave.
I finish each head shave with my straight razor. I use clippers, trimmers, and a foil shave to get most of the hair out of the way, and then let my razor do its job of getting it down to smooth skin.
Hair types and textures vary. I do not “dig” with my razor. Your comfort and safety are my focus. The hair removal is secondary to those two things. So I touch up any really stubborn areas with my other tools.
When the head is finished, I begin with your beard.
As with any haircut, your beard is the centerpiece of your look and presentation, and deserves to be treated as such, complete with a proper beard consultation where we talk about your beard and what you want to do with it. I finish each cut with a razor outline and edging both on the face and the neck.
I like to finish with a relaxing scalp moisturizing treatment. After a shaved head, the cleansing, moisturizing and massaging action that takes place simply feels fantastic and invigorating.
This service usually takes about 45 minutes to an hour.

CLASSIC MEN’S HAIRCUT and/or Skin Fade

Whether you are getting ready for an important executive management meeting or a weekend trip to the mountains, the classic haircut for men will have you looking and feeling your best.
When you choose to do a Skin Fade, the cut is faded to the skin with a trimmer, foil shaver, or straight edge. I do these for same price as a Classic Haircut, although I may need a few more minutes to make sure the bald fade is set correctly.
I begin all Men’s Haircuts with a personalized consultation. We discuss what you have in mind, and I ask several questions, such as who will be seeing your hair, about your morning routine (do you spend twenty minutes in front of a mirror, or are you a wash-and-go guy?), and most importantly, what type of haircut you want to receive.
Some clients bring me pictures of themselves from before, when they liked their haircut, and others bring pictures of haircuts they like and haircuts they do not like.
We then move on to a precision men’s haircut and neck shave, then a vigorous shampoo and the application of a conditioning treatment to the hair.
The haircut finished with a quick styling session. I select products to put in your hair to keep your haircut looking its best and show you how to maintain the look as it grows over the next weeks.
The Classic Haircut or Skin Fade takes about 30-45 minutes to complete – $45 Longer hair may cost extra.

Classic BUZZCUT
When I preform a buzzcut, I take extra steps to minimize the hairs falling onto your body from the haircut. I also take time to detail the cut – I treat your buzzcut with the same respect and detail as I treat any other haircut.
Note: A Buzzcut does NOT include skin fades. For skin fades, book a Skin Fade.
The Buzzcut takes about 15 minutes to complete – $30

CLIPPER HEAD SHAVE
Just like the Express Buzzcut, except I am taking all the hair off down to nothing. Finished with a foil shaver, hot lather neck shave and a hot towel.
The Clipper Head Shave takes about 15-30 minutes to complete.

Neck Clean Up

Some of my clients’ neck hair grows more quickly than their head hair. Mine does the same thing… or at least it looks like it does. Come in to see me a couple weeks after a haircut, and I will trim the hair off your neck and around your ears. This will help keep them cleaned off for a couple more weeks while the rest of your hair catches up.
It only takes a few minutes to do a quick neck cleanup, so I tell everyone to NOT set an appointment for one. Just come in, tell the person at the front that you are there for me to do a neck shave. I will bring you to the chair after I finish the cut I am working on.
DO NOT BOOK ONLINE OR CALL – JUST COME IN MON, WED, FRI
Bald Fade
When someone asks for a skin fade, I automatically ask them if they want the skin to be bald or if they want a little hair left over, or a “shadow fade” as some call it. I have found that when someone asks for a skin fade or some other kind of fade, the expectation varies between people. So I like to clarify before I start cutting,
After installing a bald fade, I prefer to use a straight razor to finish the cut if time allows… The service takes about 45min.
Hot head Shaves with a straight razor
I don’t know how many times someone with little to no hair has told me that they have never been to a traditional barber. I meet a lot of people, and there’s almost a script that gets followed which says “I don’t have anything for you to work with.”
They are surprised when I tell them that they are among my favorite people to have in my chair… especially if they have a beard.
Head shaves are not as much about the hair removal (sometimes it’s not 100%) as they are about the experience of a hot lather shave with the lotions and oils which I massage the head with, and the steam towels which I relax the skin and ease the mind with.
I begin by removing the existing hair with clippers, trimmers, and sometimes a foil shaver, depending on the hair. I then apply a pre-shaving treatment and oil with a steam towel to soften the skin, open the pores, and to prepare the remaining hair for the razor to do its job.
I then apply oils and a hot lather to the head and begin the shave re-applying the oils and lather as necessary.
I end with an aftershave and then I massage cooling moisturizing cream into the scalp and set it with another steam towel.
I treat head shaves as mini-vacations in my chair, and like to finish with a relaxing shampoo treatment. After a shaved head, the cleansing, moisturizing and massaging action that takes place simply feels fantastic and invigorating.
This service usually takes about 45 minutes to an hour – $80.

Traditional Hot Lather Shave

This is a classic shave during which I go with and against the grain of the hair.
Note: I do not “dig” or use a lot of pressure with a razor for a variety of reasons, primarily safety, comfort, and to reduce skin irritation. When I identify a trouble spot, I use my foil shaver in those areas and for touchup work.
Traditional hot lather shaves include a pre-shave treatment and oils with steamed towels. I finish with an aftershave oil or gel and light skin massage.
This service usually takes about 45 minutes to an hour and is available by appointment only.

Beards and Mustaches

Beards are the centerpiece for many men’s faces, and I treat them with the same reverence as I treat bald head shaves.
We begin with a detailed consultation about your beard. I am concentrating on a few key details during this conversation.
Working from the top of the beard down, we discuss how you would like your beard to come into the sides of your face. Many opt for me to “fade” the beard in.
The cheeks are usually a main concern, especially for people who are growing the beard in. This is the zone where most patchiness appears. While I can alter the shape of the beard so that they are not an issue, this process keeps cutting them down and often discourages the wearer from keeping the beard.
I prefer to work with these patchy areas and integrate them into the beard design, usually by fading the beard in more smoothly and over a larger area. This allows these areas to grow in so that we can see what we really has over time.
At the end of the service, lining up the cheeks and face with a razor will help those areas to be more visible, as well.
Moving to the lips and chin… Guinness did a study and found that the average beard takes in 1.9 pints of beer each year. I like to trim the mustache so that it’s short enough to not be sharing your drinks and food.
I trim the rest of the beard to your desired length (or de-scraggle it) and set a shave line on your neck which defines your beard and makes it stand out.
CLASSIC BEARD TRIM (CLIPPERS ONLY)
Keep that beard looking sharp with a professional beard trim and shaping using clippers to shape and outline the beard.
Note: This is a maintenance trim, not a redefinition or beard transformation

MASTER BEARD TRIM (WITH HOT LATHER razor EDGING)
This beard trim details the edges with a hot lather outline and shave of the neck and cheek area. It’s like a mini version of our classic shave. Experience all of the glory of our classic shave, but keep the beard!

Transformational Haircut
I enjoy transformational haircuts. Yet, they can be difficult to quote without actually seeing the hair and the desired end result. The transformative haircut begins with a detailed consultation, and then we will walk through the haircut.
The nature of this haircut will involve stopping along the way to check progress. Sometimes the hair changes during the cut (for example, hair in cowlicks can change direction dramatically as it becomes shorter), and it can change the end result. When I see this happening, we can talk more at that time and make changes to our plans as necessary.
Starting at $75.00 and 45min

About Dave

I’m a native “ATL-ien” and spent eight years as a musician in the Navy, mostly in Japan and Seattle.
When I get a haircut, I treat it the same way I treat my foot and arm massages. Haircuts are a chance to stop my world, put the phone down, and simply relax in the hands of a barber.
I treat my clients with the same standard. Haircuts in my chairs are unrushed, receiving focused attention and the time they deserve. It is your time to relax, and to stop your world for a while and recharge, all while refreshing your look.
When I am not cutting hair or teaching barbering students at the ProFresh Barber Academy, I can usually be found spending time with my family, or at an Atlanta United match yelling and chanting in the Supporters Section down by the home goal with Footie Mob and the other groups.
